Techniques our Chiropractors use at Archibald Chiropractic Clinics in Bristol
Diversified
This is the most common non-specific technique used by most general practice chiropractors. It is a technique which may utilise more than one method. It will involve spinal adjustment, and generally results in a popping sound.
The most specific and traditional chiropractic method of gently “adjusting” joints devised by the first pioneering chiropractors as they correlated information from the examination of their patients with that of their x-rays. Motion palpation is our way of identifying the joints that are stiff and in need of attention, by gently moving the joints individually through their range of movement.
Joint movement can often increase straight away after a manipulation has been done so that you as the patient can experience a change for the better before even leaving the treatment room.
Flexion Distraction Treatment
A controlled, pulsed traction using our highly specialised treatment tables.
Drop Techniques
A specific technique for adjustment of the full spine on a special table. The adjusting table has a segmented drop system that quickly lowers the section of the body being adjusted. The chiropractor thrusts using minimal force, initiating movement, the fast drop of the table carries the joint through the remainder of its range of motion.
SOT Technique
SOT technique uses several different techniques which include the use of blocks, joint adjustment, organ /soft tissue reflex manipulation and cranial corrections.
Activator Technique
Activator technique is a gentle, low-force program of chiropractic care. The Activator technique uses a unique system of administering spinal adjustments using Activator analysis and an Activator instrument to initiate the correct movement of the vertebra in a predetermined direction.
“Acupuncture” /Dry Needling
This technique combines modern western Trigger Point theories with acupuncture. points. Fine needles are inserted to stimulate specific points, creating a small inflammatory reaction and stimulating the body’s own pain relieving and anti-inflammatory mechanisms. This helps by inhibiting some of the body’s responses to the problem, particularly muscle spasm and helps relieve some of the pain allowing the Chiropractic Adjustments to work unopposed.
